About

Hi. There's not really much to put up here; I'm pretty unextraordinary. I'm obsessed with meaningful lyrics and quotes. I like clever metaphors. I was born February 11th 1999. I am the most competetive person I know. I'm not very complicated. All you have to do to be my friend is be nice to me. I have beautiful friends. Be one. I'm really weird sometimes, but then so are you. I love BBC Sherlock and Taylor Swift. The Fault In Our Stars is the best book I ever read. If you ever start a conversation about The Fault In Our Stars/Sherlock/Taylor Swift, we will be talking for at least an hour. My favourite item of clothing are faded blue jeans. I'm a thinker and an over-analyzer. Thank you if you like any of the things I blog, if you reblog any of the things on here, for taking any interest in me at all. From the bottom of my heart, I send you my sincerest thank yous. I love you.

No.
She does not have to love you.
There is no rule that she must laugh at every one or your jokes.
She will not spend every moment dreaming of you.

No.
She does not have to worship you.
This is a world with freedom of religion.
It is her choice alone.

No.
She does not have to revolve around you.
She is not the earth, and you are not the sun.
It is not in her being for her heart to beat for you.

No.
She does not have to obey you.
You are not her overlord.
She has thoughts of her own.
She will defy you with every bone in her body.

No.
She does not have the freedom to do any of this.
You keep it from her.
She fights tooth and claw to regain it.

No.
One day, she will achieve everything.
She will love you, and she will hate you, and she will do it of her own will.
She will scream it from the rooftops until her voice gives out.

No.

"Since her death in 1979, the woman who discovered what the universe is made of has not so much as received a memorial plaque. Her newspaper obituaries do not mention her greatest discovery. […] Every high school student knows that Isaac Newton discovered gravity, that Charles Darwin discovered evolution, and that Albert Einstein discovered the relativity of time. But when it comes to the composition of our universe, the textbooks simply say that the most abundant atom in the universe is hydrogen. And no one ever wonders how we know."

Jeremy Knowles, discussing the complete lack of recognition Cecilia Payne gets, even today, for her revolutionary discovery. (via alliterate)

OH WAIT LEMME TELL YOU ABOUT CECILIA PAYNE.

Cecilia Payne’s mother refused to spend money on her college education, so she won a scholarship to Cambridge.

Cecilia Payne completed her studies, but Cambridge wouldn’t give her a degree because she was a woman, so she said fuck that and moved to the United States to work at Harvard.

Cecilia Payne was the first person ever to earn a Ph.D. in astronomy from Radcliffe College, with what Otto Strauve called “the most brilliant Ph.D. thesis ever written in astronomy.”

Not only did Cecilia Payne discover what the universe is made of, she also discovered what the sun is made of (Henry Norris Russell, a fellow astronomer, is usually given credit for discovering that the sun’s composition is different from the Earth’s, but he came to his conclusions four years later than Payne—after telling her not to publish).

Cecilia Payne is the reason we know basically anything about variable stars (stars whose brightness as seen from earth fluctuates). Literally every other study on variable stars is based on her work.

Cecilia Payne was the first woman to be promoted to full professor from within Harvard, and is often credited with breaking the glass ceiling for women in the Harvard science department and in astronomy, as well as inspiring entire generations of women to take up science.

Cecilia Payne is awesome and everyone should know her.

reasons why winter is better than summer:

  • little to no insects (◕‿◕✿)
  • sweaters all the time (◠△◠✿)
  • the air is nice and fresh smelling (◡‿◡✿)
  • sometimes it snows and you get out of school \(◕‿◕✿)/
  • snow is pretty (´・ω・`)
  • no pollen (▰˘◡˘▰)
  • it gets darker faster so theres more nighttime and more time to look at the stars (ᅌᴗᅌ* )
  • everything is dead just the way i like it (⊙‿⊙✿)

"My name is Michael Hunter. I was diagnosed with leukemia in June 2013 & was told on June 11, 2014 that I only have a few months left to live if I can’t find a donor. Please help me with my biological family or a donor match! I was born in Columbus, OH 3/1/1985 at Doctor’s North Hospital and given the name Christopher Brown. Please share"
Michael is a friend, I’m asking that you all take the time to share this. He desperately needs a bone marrow donor and there is very limited number of African American donors. Without a donor Michael is going to die.
Michael was adopted and does not know his birth family. We know he has a half brother but have no information about him.
He does not specifically need an African American Donor but because of all of the things that factor into finding a match (blood type, dna tissue etc.) , someone of similar descent is more likely to be a closer match.
If anyone knows anything about Michael’s birth family or if you would like to see if you are a match, please privately message me. I can put you in touch with him and his caregivers directly!
We hope through spreading awareness we can either find his birth family whom he does not know or find a donor match. Michael lives in the Cincinnati, OH area. Please dont just like this or scroll past. Please share this! You could save his life!

BOOST. Its so hard for Black people to find donors.

"Reading this made me so sad because I love seeing you in your videos and photos being so happy and wide eyed, like the world isn’t harsh and unfair as it actually is. I hate thinking about your pretty face covered in tears, because I know why you’re crying because I’ve been in your place. This isn’t a high school thing or an age thing. It’s a people thing. A life thing. It doesn’t stop. It doesn’t end or change. People cut other people down for entertainment, amusement, out of jealousy, because of something broken inside them, or for no reason at all. It’s just what they do, and you’re a target because you live your life loudly and boldly. You’re bright and joyful and so many people are cynical. They won’t understand you and they won’t understand me. But the only way they win is if your tears turn you to stone and make you bitter like them. It’s okay to ask why. It’s okay to wonder how you could try so hard and still get stomped all over. Just don’t let them change you or stop you from singing and dancing around to your favorite song. You’re going into high school this week and this is your chance to push the reset button on how much value you give the opinions of these kids, most oh whom have NO idea who they are. I’m so proud of you and protective of you because you DO. If they don’t like you for being yourself, be yourself even more. Every time someone picks on me, I’ll think of you in hopes that every time someone picks on you, you’ll think of me… and how we have this thread that connects us. Let them keep living in darkness and we’ll keep walking in the sunlight. Forever on your side, Taylor."
